OPTI'DRILLING Users' Club meets to exchange best practices

27.02.2025

On February 6, 2025, the OPTI'DRILLING Users' Club met, bringing together 10 of its members for an opportunity to exchange and share best practices and feedback. Among the participants were Pascal AUSSANT and Alexandre ROYER, who shed valuable light on the tool's evolution and prospects.

OPTI'DRILLING: a decision-making tool

OPTI'DRILLING is a decision-making tool designed to help professionals choose the best type of lining for steel pipes laid using the horizontal directional drilling technique. It helps optimize the selection of the lining material (Polyethylene, Polyurethane, Polypropylene or Epoxy), as well as its thickness, to ensure effective protection while avoiding problems linked to under- or oversizing of linings.

Thanks to this tool, companies can reduce the costs associated with coating selection errors, improve the durability of installations and optimize the reliability of underground infrastructures. By facilitating the comparative analysis of the different coatings available, OPTI'DRILLING is positioned as an essential lever for industry professionals.

A webinar to share experiences and best practices

In conjunction with this User Club meeting, an open webinar was organized, bringing together some twenty participants from a variety of professional backgrounds. The event provided an ideal opportunity to (re)present the OPTI'DRILLING tool and highlight its practical applications in the field.

In particular, NaTran shared its experience of using OPTI'DRILLING, highlighting the concrete benefits of the tool in its projects. The company highlighted the significant improvement in its decision-making process, and the cost savings achieved through optimal choices. SPAC, which has had a user license since 2023, also gave a testimonial. The discussions provided a better understanding of the specific challenges encountered in the field, and the solutions that OPTI'DRILLING can provide.

A community committed to continuous improvement

Thanks to these exchanges, the Users' Club is pursuing its mission of structuring and improving practices around OPTI'DRILLING. This collaborative dynamic not only enhances the value of the tool, but also identifies future areas for improvement, so as to better meet user needs.

Our warmest thanks to all participants for their commitment and contribution to this enriching session. See you at the next OPTI'DRILLING Users' Club meetings!
